Special because it's accommodation in one of the most beatiful monuments in Otrobanda, the old and piturresque part of Willemstad. The house was build near the aterside at the end of the 19th century, a few steps from the cruise terminal and an example of the Dutch - Caribbean architecture of the island of Curacao.
''Kas di Alma Blou" (in papiamentu) in English " Home of the Blue Soul" is a place to relax and enjoy the Curacao way of expressing life. First of all it is located in a typical 19th century mansion that has been divided into three different spaces.
Whilst entering the premises, you first encounter a large variation of art consisting of paintings, art objects and sculptures. Exhibitions by local artists is what the second space offers and finally, there is the garden, where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful sculptures. The variety of art also makes Kas di Alma Blou an exclusive shop to visit. In addition, the craft by local artisans find a nice display in the gallery. These crafts are unique objects made by various local craftsmen that can be purchased as souvenirs to take back home or to give away as a nice present from Curacao.
