The horse parade is a special attraction for those who are

Gran Marcha "The Grand
Parade
Gran Marcha (The Grand Parade), on Sunday, February 22 is the
highlight of the Carnival Season, when thousand of participants in
many groups show their fantastic costumes and floats, dance and
strut to the music of the Road March. Along the 10-km route tens of
thousands spectators dance, jump, drink and outdo themselves in the
wildest expressions of joy, as this culmination of the carnival
season meanders through the streets of historic Otrobanda.

Release Tournament
Each April, the Curaçao Yacht Club hosts the Annual International
Blue Marlin Release Tournament. The three-day event awards a
US$10,000 first prize to the team that catches and releases the
largest blue marlin, $3,000 to second place and $1,500 to third
place. If the existing record of 803 pounds, set in 1985, is
broken, the winner receives a car or pickup truck. Conservation is
priority and all marlins under 300 pounds must be released.

filled with hay for St. Nicholas' big white horse. If they have
been good all year, they will wake to find their shoes filled with
gifts. Those who haven't are afraid a goblin called "
Zwarte Piet"(Black Peter) will carry them back to Spain in a
sack.
