Ocean Encounters West is located at one of Curaçao’s best dive sites, Alice in Wonderland, right on the idyllic sandy beach of Playa Kalki in Westpunt downstairs from the Lodge Kura Hulanda.
You can shore dive, boat dive or learn how to dive with our professional staff. The dive center offers the full range of PADI courses (up to dive master) and quality equipment rental.
Ocean Encounters West is the authorized dive operator for Lodge Kura Hulanda, All West Apartments and Marazul Dive Resort. Most of Curaçao’s top dive sites are only few minutes away from Ocean Encounters West by boat or car.
The Ocean Encounters West house reef offers a rich combination of hard coral formations, sponges, tropical fish and a wide selection of colorful marine life. Turtles, rays, lobster, and morays are just some of the local inhabitants you’ll likely encounter.
The Ocean Encounters West crew can supply you with detailed information about all of our unique dive sites.
We offer daily boat trips to the best dive sites. Curaçao's world known dive site, The Mushroom Forest, is on our schedule at twice per week. The most northern dive site, Watamula, is only 5 minutes away by boat and offers spectacular healthy formations of hard corals, a soft coral-garden and a large variety of marine life.
Our boats are completely equipped for diving (radio, oxygen, fist aid, tank racks, and life jackets). Snorkeling guests are naturally welcome to participate in our trips along the coast and into the underwater cave of Mushroom Forest, ‘The Blue Room’.
Since February 2007 an airplane Fokker Fairchild 27 offers a new attraction as well for divers as a new ground for maritime life at Watamula. Ocean Encounters West offers daily afternoon one tank boat dives to the wreck.
