PLAYA SANTA CRUZ

The mangrove swamp surrounding this wide beach, dotted with palm trees, clouds the water, creating less than ideal conditions for snorkeling. However, it does attract a lot of birds, creating excellent bird-watching possibilities. A few shade structures are set back from the water, and there's a small bar and restaurant and restrooms.
