Early in the 20th century, the opening of the oil refinery and corresponding decrease in agriculture resulted in the end of the seú, a traditional dance celebrating a good harvest. Today the dance is performed only in Willemstad's annual folklore parade on Easter Monday, and enjoys the participation of more than 2,000 Curaçaoans of all ages.
Due to Covid this year's parade was postponed to July 3, 2022. The parade starts in Santa Maria and ends at the Aqualectra building in Mundu Nobo (near Mangrove Beach Corendon Curaçao Resort).
